Dersimelagon is a novel investigational orally administered selective agonist of the melanocortin-1 receptor. The drug-drug interaction (DDI) potential of dersimelagon was investigated in both nonclinical (in vitro) and clinical studies. The in vitro inhibition of CYP/UGT isoforms and efflux/uptake transporters by dersimelagon was assessed.

Background: Maternal psychiatric condition during the perinatal period is relevant to children's cognitive development and mental health. Psychotropic medications are necessary to maintain the mental health of pregnant women with psychiatric disorders, but they are often avoided due to concerns about adverse effects, such as congenital malformations and abnormal neurodevelopment. A retrospective study of pregnant women with psychiatric disorders using psychotropic medications was performed to clarify maternal and child demographic data and to investigate whether psychotropic medications affected the Apgar score and the decision to breastfeed.

Continuous consumption combined with incomplete removal during wastewater treatment means residues of psychotropic drugs (PDs), including antidepressants, antipsychotics, antiepileptics and illicit drugs, are continuously entering the aquatic environment, where they have the potential to affect non-target organisms. Photochemical transformation is an important aspect to consider when evaluating the environmental persistence of PDs, particularly for those present in sunlit surface waters. This review summarizes the latest research on the photodegradation of typical PDs under environmentally relevant conditions.

A cost-effective strategy is reported utilizing ionic liquid (IL), 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium bisulfate ([HMIM] HSO), to delaminate TiC MXene, thereby enhancing its efficiency in electrocatalyzing tryptophan (Trp) oxidation. The positively charged IL effectively intercalates within the negatively charged MXene layers, fostering structural stability through π-π stacking and electrostatic interactions. Consequently, the resulting IL-TiC composite not only maintained the inherent electronic conductivity of TiC but also significantly augmented its electrocatalytic prowess.
