Manifestations of the archaic in character within the analytic field: From memories in behaviour to chronic and acute enactments.

The objective of this paper is to discuss the ways in which primitive aspects of the mind, in particular, the archaic elements of character, become manifest within the analytic field. After a review of the concept, it is proposed that a "normal" character manifests through memories in behaviours/feelings, which seek the object to satisfy their needs. The characterological structure keeps primitive traumatic inscriptions under control.

Anorexia nervosa (AN) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) often share multiple similar symptoms and are highly comorbid; however, the common and distinct brain neuroanatomy of these two diseases are unclear. The current study attempted to identify the overlapping and different gray matter volume (GMV) between AN and OCD. We conducted a voxel-wise meta-analysis of GMV using the latest Seed-based d Mapping with Permutation of Subject Images Toolbox (SDM-PSI) software.

Introduction: Ultrasonography is increasingly used to diagnose the carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Most frequently, the enlargement of the nerve cross-sectional area (CSA) at the tunnel inlet serves to confirm the diagnosis. Recent research has shown that the nerve diameter is decreased within the tunnel, when measured at the level of pisiforme or capitatum.

For malaria control to be successful, experience has shown that success is more likely where all involved feel the attempt must not be allowed to fail, and that success can be the only acceptable outcome. Importantly, all those at the top must have such commitment, and, in particular, this should also include the funder, the source of finance of the attempt. That would be malaria control treated as a priority.
