Extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) improves survival for prolonged cardiac arrest (CA) but carries significant risks and costs due to ECMO. Previous predictive models have been complex, incorporating both clinical data and parameters obtained after CPR or ECMO initiation. This study aims to compare a simpler clinical-only model with a model that includes both clinical and pre-ECMO laboratory parameters, to refine patient selection and improve ECPR outcomes.

Objectives: Teicoplanin is a commonly used antibiotic in critically ill children. However, teicoplanin dosing is often inaccurate, especially in children undergoing continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT). This study aims to develop a population pharmacokinetic (PK) model to optimize teicoplanin dosing in critically ill children, including those on CKRT.

Cutaneous melanoma is one of the most aggressive skin cancers originating from skin pigment cells. Patients with advanced melanoma suffer a poor prognosis and generally cannot benefit well from surgical resection and chemo/target therapy due to metastasis and drug resistance. Thus, adoptive cell therapy (ACT), employing immune cells with specific tumor-recognizing receptors, has emerged as a promising therapeutic approach to display on-tumor toxicity.

Physical exercise effectively prevents anxiety disorders caused by environmental stress. The neural circuitry mechanism, however, remains incomplete. Here, we identified a previously unrecognized pathway originating from the primary motor cortex (M1) to medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) via the ventromedial thalamic (VM) nuclei in male mice.

Treatment for neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) is tailored to the tumor's site of origin, grade, and differentiation. NENs are categorized into two main types: well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), which tend to grow more slowly and are less aggressive, and poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs), which are highly aggressive and harder to treat. Treatment options for NETs range from somatostatin analogues and mTOR inhibitors to peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) with Lutetium-177 dotatate.
