To review the clinical characteristics, to illustrate diagnosis and management experience of orbital and cranial complications of pediatric acute rhinosinusitis. The clinical data of 24 children with orbital and cranial complications of acute rhinosinusitis who received endoscopic sinus surgery combined with drug treatment in Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2017 to December 2021 were retrospectively reviewed. There were 19 boys and 5 girls.

Septic arthritis of the facet joint (SAFJ) is an uncommon etiology of low back pain that usually affects the elderly population and immunocompromised patients but is rare in immunocompetent and young patients. When such a clinical presentation occurs, it is imperative to diagnose the source of the infection. We report a case of septic arthritis of the left third and fourth lumbar vertebrae facet joint due to in a young immunocompetent adult, and the source of infection was found to be subacute infective endocarditis of a bicuspid aortic valve which was undiagnosed till now.

A previously healthy 62-year-old African American female presented with a fulminant orbital cellulitis of the right eye with diffuse scleritis and orbital inflammation extending to the optic chiasm on neuroimaging. She was taken for an emergent orbitotomy with an orbital fat biopsy and started on broad-spectrum intravenous (IV) and topical antibiotics. Within 36 hours of presentation, scleral thinning and a corneal melt ensued, ending in enucleation.
