Electronic address:

Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) has emerged as a hindrance for rehabilitation of ischemic stroke patients. Naotaifang (NTF) exhibits beneficial efficacy in alleviating inflammation and ferroptosis in vitro during CIRI. While the potential role of NTF in regulating mitochondrial dynamics in CIRI are not elucidated.

Aims: Thermogenic adipocytes are able to dissipate energy as heat from lipids and carbohydrates through enhanced uncoupled respiration, due to UCP1 activity. PPAR family of transcription factors plays an important role in adipocyte biology. The purpose of this work was to characterize the role of PPARα and pemafibrate in the control of thermogenic adipocyte formation and function.

Metabolically Stable Adenylation Inhibitors of Biotin Protein Ligase as Antibacterial Agents.

J Med Chem

Department of Medicinal Chemistry, University of Minnesota, 308 Harvard Street SE, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55455, United States.

The antibacterial agent Bio-AMS is metabolized in vivo through hydrolysis of the central acyl-sulfamide linker leading to high clearance and release of a moderately cytotoxic metabolite . Herein, we disclose analogues designed to prevent the metabolism of the central acyl-sulfamide moiety through steric hindrance or attenuation of the acyl-sulfamide electrophilicity. was identified as a metabolically stable analogue with a single-digit nanomolar dissociation constant for biotin protein ligase (BPL) and minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) against and ranging from 0.

The human genome consists of 23 chromosome pairs (22 autosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes), with 46 chromosomes in a normal cell. In the interphase nucleus, the 2 m long nuclear DNA is assembled with proteins forming chromatin. The typical mammalian cell nucleus has a diameter between 5 and 15 μm in which the DNA is packaged into an assortment of chromatin assemblies.

A reduction-secretion system contributes to roxarsone (V) degradation and efflux in Brevundimonas sp. M20.

Roxarsone (V) (Rox(V)) is an organoarsenical compound that poses significant risks to aquatic ecosystems and various diseases. Reducing trivalent 3-amino-4-hydroxyphenylarsonic acid (HAPA(III)) offers a competitive advantage; however, it leads to localized arsenic contamination, which can disrupt the soil microbiome and impede plant growth. Three genes, BsntrA, arsC2, and BsexpA, encoding nitroreductase, arsenate reductase, and MFS transporter, respectively, were identified in the Rox(V)-resistant strain Brevundimonas sp.
