In the context of bone fractures, the influence of the mechanical environment on the healing outcome is widely accepted, while its influence at the cellular level is still poorly understood. This study explores the influence of mechanical load on naïve mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) differentiation, focusing on hypertrophic chondrocyte differentiation. Unlike primary bone healing, which involves the direct differentiation of MSCs into bone-forming cells, endochondral ossification uses an intermediate cartilage template that remodels into bone.

Objective: To establish a new technique to easily identify the fetal cervix-uterus complex in normal female fetuses from 20 to 40 weeks of gestation.
Material And Methods: The study was performed in routine examination in normal fetuses by two observers. Twenty-five consecutive cases per gestational week were assessed between 20 and 40 weeks.

Background: Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein M (HnRNPM) is a key splicing factor involved in various biological processes, including the epithelial‒mesenchymal transition and cancer development. Alternative splicing is widely involved in the process of spermatogenesis. However, the function of hnRNPM as a splicing factor during spermatogenesis remains unknown.

Bioprinting of nanohydroxyapatite (nHA)-based bioinks has attracted considerable interest in bone tissue engineering. However, the role and relevance of the physicochemical properties of nHA incorporated in a bioink, particularly in terms of its printability and the biological behavior of bioprinted cells, remain largely unexplored. In this study, two bioinspired nHAs with different chemical compositions, crystallinity, and morphologies were synthesized and characterized: a more crystalline, needle-like Mg-doped nHA (N-HA) and a more amorphous, rounded Mg- and CO-doped nHA (R-HA).

Case Summary: A 13-year-old male castrated domestic shorthair cat presented with a 2-month history of progressive lameness, poor appetite and constipation. Physical examination revealed palpable lesions in muscles of several extremities. Ultrasound examination confirmed the presence of round lesions with a hypo- or anechoic centre within the muscles.
