Earthworms are keystone animals stimulating litter decomposition and nutrient cycling. However, earthworms comprise diverse species which live in different soil layers and consume different types of food. Microorganisms in the gut of earthworms are likely to contribute significantly to their ability to digest organic matter, but this may vary among earthworm species.

This project investigated the generation and characterization of post-service food waste at Georgia Gwinnett College dining hall from Spring 2022 to Spring 2023. In Spring 2022, for three weeks, twice a week, a total of 115.08 kg of post-service food waste was collected by cafeteria workers.

The aim of this work was to determine the nutritional value and antioxidant potential of the pulp and seeds of the fruit of grown and consumed in the Eastern Region of Cameroon. The physicochemical and nutritional analyses of the pulp and seeds showed that the water content ranged from 89.33 to 95.

This research addresses the gap in efficient thawing methods by investigating the effects of ohmic thawing variables and freezing methods on the thawing speed and quality attributes of ground turkey breast, aiming to identify the optimal ohmic thawing method and compare it with traditional air and water thawing techniques. The variables for ohmic thawing consisted of voltage gradient (10, 15, and 20 V/cm), freezing method (Snap (rapid freezing of samples in liquid nitrogen at -210 °C), -70, and -20 °C), and probe type. The results showed that the snap-freezing method demonstrated superior functional and quality characteristics.

Background: Health policies promote optimal care, yet policies that address disease-related malnutrition (DRM) are lacking. The purpose of this study was to conduct a scoping review to identify literature on existing and planned policy to address DRM in children or adults and explore the settings, contexts and actors of DRM policy.
Methods: A search strategy comprising DRM and policy keywords was applied to eight databases on 24 February 2023.
