In anesthetized dogs, an increase of the lymph flow and the transcapillary fluid transfer, under the effect of histamine, was due to elevation of capillary hydrostatic pressure and capillary filtration coefficient in the small intestine. Against the background of water load and hyperthermia, histamine induced less obvious shifts of the microhemodynamic parameters and lymph flow in the small intestine.

Protocol for in vivo immune cell analysis in subcutaneous murine tumor models using advanced flow cytometry.

Here, we present a protocol for guiding tissue preparation and flow cytometric analysis in subcutaneous murine tumor models and secondary lymphoid organs. We describe steps for dissociating tumors, spleens, and lymph nodes to obtain single-cell suspensions. We then detail procedures for immune cell staining and analysis and gating strategies including the use of fluorescence-minus-one controls (FMOs).

Solute carrier family 25 member 1 (SLC25A1) affects lipid metabolism and energy regulation in multiple types of tumor cell, affecting their proliferation and survival. To the best of our knowledge, however, the impact of SLC25A1 on the proliferation and survival of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells has yet to be explored. Here, SLC25A1 expression was detected in ESCC tissues and cell lines.

Total pharyngo-laryngo-esophagectomy (TPLE) with free jejunal transplantation (FJT) is the standard reconstructive procedure for hypopharyngeal cancer, typically utilizing the superior thyroid artery as the recipient vessel. However, patient-specific anatomical variations and comorbidities can significantly complicate this surgery. We present a unique case of a 68-year-old male with hypopharyngeal cancer who exhibited multiple challenges, including short stature (126 cm), low weight (35 kg), cervical spondylosis, and a history of vertebroplasty, highlighting the complexities inherent in such reconstructions.

S100A8/A9 Promotes Dendritic Cell-Mediated Th17 Cell Response in Sjögren's Dry Eye Disease by Regulating the Acod1/STAT3 Pathway.

Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci

January 2025

Tianjin Key Laboratory of Retinal Functions and Diseases, Tianjin Branch of National Clinical Research Center for Ocular Disease, Eye Institute and School of Optometry, Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital, Tianjin, China.

Purpose: To investigate the role of S100A8/A9 in the pathogenesis of Sjögren's dry eye disease (SjDED) and explore its potential mechanism of action.

Methods: S100A8/A9 expression was determined by western blot and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Tear secretion, corneal fluorescein staining, and hematoxylin and eosin staining were used to evaluate the effect of paquinimod, a S100A8/A9 inhibitor, on dry eye disease in nonobese diabetic (NOD) mice.

Study on the metastatic mechanism of LINC00115 in adenocarcinoma of the Esophagogastric junction.

Department of Thoracic Surgery, Huaihe Hospital of Henan University, No. 8, Baobei Road, Gulou District, Kaifeng City, Henan Province, China.

Adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) is a common and deadly cancer, and an in-depth investigation of its molecular mechanisms of metastasis is crucial for discovering new therapeutic targets. This study explores the role of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LINC00115 in AEG metastasis and its underlying mechanisms. Through the analysis of 108 pairs of AEG cancer tissues and matched adjacent tissues, we found a significant upregulation of LINC00115 in AEG tissues, closely associated with TNM staging and lymph node metastasis.
