Emerging wearable devices would benefit from integrating ductile photovoltaic light-harvesting power sources. In this work, we report a small-molecule acceptor (SMA), also known as a non-fullerene acceptor (NFA), designed for stretchable organic solar cell (-OSC) blends with large mechanical compliance and performance. Blends of the organosilane-functionalized SMA BTP-Si4 with the polymer donor PNTB6-Cl achieved a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of >16% and ultimate strain (ε) of >95%.

Background: Periprosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are a major complication of total joint replacement surgeries. This study investigated the enhancement of mechanical properties and antibiotic release in ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) through the encapsulation of submicron gentamicin sulfate (GS) particles, addressing the critical need for improved implant materials in orthopaedic surgery, particularly in managing PJIs.
Methods: The present study involved embedding submicron GS particles into UHMWPE flakes at concentrations of 2% to 10% by weight.

Background: Similar to T1 colon cancer (CC), risk stratification may guide T2 CC treatment and reduce unnecessary major surgery. In this study, prediction models were developed that could identify T2 CC patients with a lower risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) for whom (intensive) follow-up after local treatment could be considered.
Methods: A nationwide cohort study was performed involving pT2 CC patients who underwent surgery between 2012 and 2020, using data from the Dutch ColoRectal Audit, which were linked to the Nationwide Pathology Databank.

Purpose Of Review: Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a new frontier for aiding in the management of both acute and chronic pain, which may potentially transform opioid prescribing practices and addiction prevention strategies. In this review paper, not only do we discuss some of the current literature around predicting various opioid-related outcomes, but we also briefly point out the next steps to improve trustworthiness of these AI models prior to real-time use in clinical workflow.
Recent Findings: Machine learning-based predictive models for identifying risk for persistent postoperative opioid use have been reported for spine surgery, knee arthroplasty, hip arthroplasty, arthroscopic joint surgery, outpatient surgery, and mixed surgical populations.

Background: The introduction of total mesorectal excision improved locoregional control for rectal adenocarcinoma significantly. Standardisation of the technique of LPLND is lacking in literature.
Methods: We describe the current practices of case selection and technical details of lateral lymph node dissection in rectal cancer.
