(), a microbe commonly isolated from patients with vaginal tract infections, transforms from yeast to hyphae and produces many toxins, adhesins, and invasins, as well as biofilms resistant to antifungal antibiotic treatment. Effective agents against this pathogen are urgently needed. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have been used to cure inflammation and infectious diseases.

Introduction: Platelets link thrombosis and inflammation, but how platelets handle the endogenous intraplatelet inflammatory machinery is less well understood. NACHT, LRR, and PYD domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) is the central component of the interleukin (IL)-1-producing inflammasome. Elucidating the cell type-specific mechanism of NLRP3 in platelets may improve our understanding of thrombotic diseases.

Background: Pulsed-field ablation (PFA) represents a new, nonthermal ablation energy for the ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). Ablation energies producing thermal injury are associated with an inflammatory response, platelet activation, and coagulation activation.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the systemic response in patients undergoing pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using pulsed-field and radiofrequency (RF) energy.

Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura (TTP) are rare diseases sharing a common pathological feature, thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). TMA is characterized by microvascular thrombosis with consequent thrombocytopenia, microangiopathic hemolytic anemia and/or multiorgan dysfunction. In the past, the distinction between HUS and TTP was predominantly based on clinical grounds.

The relationship between von Willebrand factor (VWF) and inflammation has attracted considerable attention in recent years. VWF, which is stored in the Weibel-Palade bodies (WPBs) of endothelial cells (ECs), is released from WPBs in response to inflammatory stimuli and is thought to contribute to inflammation by promoting leukocyte extravasation. In this study, lung injury model mice were produced by intratracheal injection with lipopolysaccharides.
