Further explorations into the complexities of femininity and masculinity.

Int J Psychoanal

December 2024

Société Psychanalytique de Recherche et de Formation, Paris, France.

This text explores Dana Birksted-Breen's notions of penis-as-link and negative and positive femininity, rooted in primitive mental and bodily states, in a dialogue between the manifestations of the biological body and their interpretation by the psyche in the construction of a sexed bodily mind. When the capacities for introjection have been impaired from an early stage, there is a great difficulty in representing and relating to a receptive internal space, hence to one's femininity, be it for a girl or a boy. This capacity for introjection in its relation to femininity plays a great part in the analytic capacity to display one's bodily receiver instrument as a sounding board for the analysand's unconscious.

From primordial inscription to word representation.

Int J Psychoanal

December 2024

Brazilian Psychoanalytic Society of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This work seeks to examine two aspects of the passage from the somato-sensory function to the psyche, in an attempt to explore in greater detail the construction of mental representations. The first aspect is the primordial inscription, which ends in the formation of a pictogram. This is an attempt to represent the "thing".

Background: Assessing the difficulty of impacted lower third molar (ILTM) surgical extraction is crucial for predicting postoperative complications and estimating procedure duration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a convolutional neural network (CNN) in determining the angulation, position, classification and difficulty index (DI) of ILTM. Additionally, we compared these parameters and the time required for interpretation among deep learning (DL) models, sixth-year dental students (DSs), and general dental practitioners (GPs) with and without CNN assistance.

Improving flood-prone areas mapping using geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI): A non-parametric algorithm enhanced by math-based metaheuristic algorithms.

J Environ Manage

January 2025

Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Convergence Engineering for Intelligent Drone, XR Research Center, Sejong University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Flooding presents substantial dangers to human lives and infrastructure, underscoring the need to map flood-prone areas to implement effective mitigation measures precisely. Although machine learning algorithms have made great strides, their accuracy in flood susceptibility mapping (FSM) remains limited due to data dependence, interpretability, and explainability issues, overfitting, generalization difficulties, and hyperparameter tuning. This study suggests combining the Decision Tree (DT) algorithm with advanced, math-based metaheuristic optimization algorithms to address these limitations.

Background: To better understand factors associated with virologic response, we retrospectively characterized the HIV proviruses of 7 people with HIV who received long-acting cabotegravir/rilpivirine (CAB/RPV-LA) and were selected according to the following criteria: virologic control achieved despite a history of viral replication on 1 or both corresponding antiretroviral classes (n = 6) and virologic failure (VF) after CAB/RPV-LA initiation (n = 1).

Methods: Last available blood samples before the initiation of CAB/RPV-LA were analyzed retrospectively. Near full-length HIV DNA genome haplotypes were inferred from Nanopore sequencing by the in vivo Genome Diversity Analyzer to search for archived drug resistance mutations (DRMs) and evaluate the frequency and intactness of proviruses harboring DRMs.
