The cold and hypoxic conditions at high altitude necessitate high metabolic O demands to support thermogenesis while hypoxia reduces O availability. Skeletal muscles play key roles in thermogenesis, but our appreciation of muscle plasticity and adaptation at high altitude has been hindered by past emphasis on only a small number of muscles. We examined this issue in deer mice ().

Background: Therapeutic hypothermia (TH) is a widely practiced neuroprotective strategy for neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Induced hypothermia is associated with shivering, cold pain, agitation, and distress.
Objective: This scoping review determines the breadth of research undertaken for pain and stress management in neonates undergoing hypothermia therapy, the pharmacokinetics of analgesic and sedative medications during hypothermia and the effect of such medication on short- and long-term neurological outcomes.

Background: Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) experience an increased risk of perioperative pulmonary complications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of albuterol spray on hypoxia and bronchospasm in patients with COPD under general anesthesia.
Methods: This single-center, double-blind, parallel-group, randomized clinical trial was performed on 120 smoking patients with COPD who were referred to 5 Azar Educational Hospital in Gorgan, Northern Iran, in 2021.

Vitality is the vigor newborn animals exhibit during the first hours of life. It can be assessed by a numerical score, in which variables, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, mucous membranes' coloration, time the offspring took to stand up, and meconium staining, are monitored. Vitality can be affected by several factors, and therapies are used to increase it.
