Human embryo implantation: The complex interplay between endometrial receptivity and the microbiome.

J Reprod Immunol

January 2025

Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital, (School of Medical and Life Sciences/Affiliated Fifth People's Hospital, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine), Chengdu, China. Electronic address:

The endometrial and vaginal microbiota have co-evolved with the reproductive tract and play a key role in both health and disease. However, the difference between endometrial and vaginal microbiota, as well as their association with reproductive outcomes in women undergoing frozen embryo transfer, remains unclear. 120 women who underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and whole embryo freezing were enrolled.

Computational insights into the redox properties and electronic structures of [Tc=O] complexes: Implications for Tc-radiopharmaceuticals.

J Mol Graph Model

January 2025

"VINČA" Institute of Nuclear Sciences - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade, 11001, Belgrade, Serbia.

Technetium-99m plays a pivotal role in nuclear medicine, offering unique IMAGING capabilities due to its favorable physical and chemical properties. This study investigates the redox behavior and electronic structures of three representative Tc(V) oxo complexes, [TcO(HMPAO)], [TcO(Bicisate)], and [TcO(DMSA)], using computational techniques. Employing relativistic density functional theory with the Zero-Order Regular Approximation (ZORA), we analyze singlet-triplet energy gaps, Gibbs free energy changes, and redox potentials in neutral and acidic environments.

How to survive mild winters: Cold acclimation, deacclimation, and reacclimation in winter wheat and barley.

Plant Physiol Biochem

January 2025

Laboratory of Plant Stress Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Plant Genetics and Crop Breeding, Czech Agrifood Research Center, Drnovská 507, 161 06, Prague 6, Ruzyně, Czech Republic.

Cold acclimation and vernalization represent the major evolutionary adaptive responses to ensure winter survival of temperate plants. Due to climate change, mild winters can paradoxically worsen plant winter survival due to cold deacclimation induced by warm periods during winter. It seems that the ability of cold reacclimation in overwintering Triticeae cereals is limited, especially in vernalized plants.

Electronic address:

Oocyte aging is closely related to a decline in female fertility, accompanied by increased reactive oxygen species levels and changes in protein posttranslational modifications. However, the role of protein palmitoylation in oocyte aging has not been investigated. In the present study, a new association between redox and palmitoylation in aging oocytes was found.

Mild behavioral impairment and its relation to amyloid load in isolated REM sleep behavior disorder.

Parkinsonism Relat Disord

January 2025

Department of Nuclear Medicine, Seoul Metropolitan Government-Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center, Seoul National University College of Medicine, Seoul, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Introduction: In isolated REM sleep behavior disorder (iRBD), the evidence of cognitive impairment and co-existing amyloid pathology suggests that mild behavioral impairment (MBI) may be associated with disease progression. In this study, we investigated MBI and its association with cognitive function, brain amyloid load and glucose metabolism in iRBD patients to evaluate the utility of MBI as a predictive marker of disease progression.

Methods: Patients with iRBD underwent a neuropsychological evaluation, F-florbetaben (FBB) PET, and F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET.
