The metabolism and disposition of hydrazine and its effects on endogenous metabolites has been studied in rats by the use of high resolution proton NMR spectroscopy of urine. Several metabolites of hydrazine were detected, notably acetyl- and diacetylhydrazine and a cyclised metabolite which results from a hydrazone formed from 2-oxoglutarate and hydrazine. Effects of hydrazine on endogenous metabolites in urine and plasma were also observed; notably a dose-related increase in urinary taurine, a dose-related increase in urinary and plasma lactate, increases in urinary alpha-alanine, beta-alanine, methylamine and a decrease in urinary 2-oxoglutarate. This study has indicated the utility of using high resolution proton NMR spectroscopy to analyse urine for both metabolites and endogenous compounds after exposure of animals to toxic substances.

Powdered germinated Thai rice () is widely utilised as a dietary supplement to support health and prevent diseases. This study investigated the bioactive compound profile of water extracts from beverage powder made from Thai germinated brown rice (GBRE) and assessed its anticancer effects on cholangiocarcinoma, lung cancer, and liver cancer cell lines. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) revealed 23 metabolites, including amino acids, sugar, phenolic compounds and nitrogenous compounds.

we evaluated regression models based on quantitative ultrasound (QUS) parameters and compared them with a vendor-provided method for calculating the ultrasound fat fraction (USFF) in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). We measured the attenuation coefficient (AC) and the backscatter-distribution coefficient (BSC-D) and determined the USFF during a liver ultrasound and calculated the magnetic resonance imaging proton-density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF) and steatosis grade (S0-S4) in a combined retrospective-prospective cohort.
