In guinea-pig isolated ileal preparations, the 5-methylthien-2-yl (5d), 5-bromothien-2-yl (5f) and 5-chlorothien-2-yl (5h) analogs of baclofen depressed twitch responses to field stimulation in a dose-dependent manner. These actions were reversibly and competitively antagonised by 2-hydroxysaclofen but not by naloxone, phentolamine, propranolol or theophylline. The relative potencies (EC50 values) were baclofen (10 microM) greater than 5h (40 microM) greater than 5d (80 microM) greater than 5f (120 microM). These analogs represent a novel class of specific GABAB receptor agonists which, like baclofen, should readily enter the brain.

Epidemiological and clinical studies suggest that asthma is associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes, but its mechanism is uncertain. 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) is a mediator involved in asthma and in cardiovascular functioning. The advantage of traditional MTV infrared decoys which are mainly consist of magnesium, Teflon and VITON is that it emits high radiant energy, so it is an effective countermeasure to traditional seekers which seek the target by heat source. The spectral radiant intensity which generated from high temperature combustion of MTV infrared decoys in near infrared region and ultraviolet band is very high, and that in Mid-IR region is relative lower, however the radiant intensity of real jet fighter in ultraviolet band is low and the infrared radiant intensity ratio of Mid-IR to near IR band is greater than 1. Thus, the traditional MTV infrared decoys are hardly able to counter the seekers equipped with dual color combined guidance system.

The concentrations of particle-bound ∑ PBDE (sum of four PBDE congeners) indoors were significantly greater than those in other regions and similar to the levels in electronic waste recycling sites. In all the samples, BDE209 and alpha-HBCD were the dominant congener for PBDEs and HBCDs, respectively.
