: Cannabidiol (CBD) is an approved treatment for childhood epilepsies and a candidate treatment for several other CNS disorders. However, it has poor oral bioavailability. We investigated the effect of a novel lipid formulation on its absorption in humans and on its tissue distribution in mice.

Hydrophobization could improve the moisture resistance of biopolymer-based materials, depending on the methods and materials used, providing benefits for packaging applications. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of increasing concentrations (0-2.0%) of candelilla wax (CW) and oleic acid (OA) on the structural and physicochemical properties, including water affinity, of glycerol-plasticized pea protein isolate (PPI) films.

The membrane dipole potential that arises from the interfacial water and constitutive dipolar groups of lipid molecules modulates the interaction of amphiphiles and proteins with membranes. Consequently, its determination for lipid mixtures resembling the existing diversity in biological membranes is very relevant. In this work, the dipole potentials of monolayers, formed at the air-water interface, from pure or mixed lipids (1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl--glycero-3-phosphocholine (POPC), 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl--glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (POPE), 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl--glycero-3-phosphatidyserine (POPS), sphingomyelin (SpM) and cholesterol) were measured and correlated with the mean area per lipid.

Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a subject of interest for researchers due to its advantageous characteristics, including a straightforward manufacturing process, biocompatibility, and extensive modification potential. The hydrophilic nature of the material is beneficial in some applications, yet a limiting factor in others. This study aimed to develop BC-based materials with goFogureod moisture resistance.

is one of the most destructive quarantine pests, causing irreversible damage to pine trees. However, the unexpected identification of pine wilt disease in Northern China indicates that can survive under low temperatures. In this study, we analyzed the reproductivity variations among 18 different isolates, and SC13 was identified to have excellent low temperature resistance.
