We employed machine learning (ML) techniques combined with potential-dependent photoelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy (pot-PEIS) to gain deeper insights into the charge transport mechanisms of hematite (α-FeO) photoanodes. By the Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) analysis from the ML model constructed from a small data set (dozens of samples) of electrical parameters obtained from pot-PEIS and the PEC performance, we identified the dominant factors influencing the electron transport to the back contact in the bulk and hole transfer to a solution at the hematite/electrolyte interface. The results revealed that shallow defect states significantly enhance electron transport, while deep defect states impede it, and also one of the surface states enhances the hole transfer to the electrolyte solution.

1,4-Dihydronicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and its phosphate ester (NADPH) are essential cofactors required for all living cells, playing pivotal roles in multiple biological processes such as energy metabolism and biosynthesis. NADPH is produced during photosynthesis by the combination of photosystem II, where water is oxidised, and photosystem I, where NADP is reduced. This review focuses on catalytic NAD(P) (and its analogues) reduction to generate 1,4-NAD(P)H without formation of other regioisomers and the dimer.

Clarithromycin, a common antibiotic found in domestic wastewater, persists even after treatment and can transfer to soils when treated wastewater (TWW) is used for irrigation. This residual antibiotic may exert selection pressure, promoting the spread of antibiotic resistance. While Predicted No Effect Concentrations (PNECs) are used in liquid media to predict resistance risks, PNEC values for soils, especially for clarithromycin, are lacking.

Fruits and vegetables (F&Vs) are essential in daily life and industrial production. These perishable produces are vulnerable to various biotic and abiotic stresses during their growth, postharvest storage, and handling. As the fruit detaches from the plant, these stresses become more intense.

In this work, laser-induced graphene from kraft paper (kraft paper-LIG) was employed for the nonenzymatic electrochemical sensing of dopamine (DA). We reported the fabrication and characterization of a disposable, cost-effective, kraft-based electrochemical dopamine sensor with the sensing electrode consisting of laser-induced graphene derived from kraft paper. Kraft paper-LIG was formed by the femtosecond laser modification of kraft paper into a three-dimensional (3D) graphene arrangement.
