The Grotte du Bison, in Arcy-sur-Cure (Yonne, France), yielded a large assemblage of 49 Neandertal remains from late Mousterian layers, offering critical insights for the study of Middle to Upper Paleolithic populations of Western Europe. Previous studies described the external morphology of 13 isolated teeth and a partial maxilla. Building on this previous work, the current study provides further descriptions and analyses of the remains, including one postcranial fragment, six cranial fragments, two maxillary fragments, and 40 isolated teeth.

Background: Transphyseal hematogenous osteomyelitis (THO) is a common infectious condition, being present in 25% of patients with hematogenous osteomyelitis. A large proportion of pediatric hematogenous osteomyelitis infections can spread through the growth cartilage and therefore may be potentially responsible for growth disorders, leading to limb-length discrepancy or angular deformities. The purpose of the present study was to identify both the prevalence of complications caused by transphyseal osteomyelitis and factors influencing their occurrence.

α-Proteobacteria have been repeatedly isolated from marine sponges and proposed to be beneficial to the host. Bacterial motility is known to contribute to host colonization. We have previously identified pseudovibriamides A and B, produced in culture by Ab134, and shown that pseudovibriamide A promotes flagellar motility.

Biochemical signaling arising from mechanical force-induced physical changes in biological macromolecules is a critical determinant of key physiological processes across all biological lengths and time scales. Recent studies have deepened our understanding of how mechano-transduction regulates somatic tissues such as those in alveolar, gastrointestinal, embryonic, and skeleto-muscular systems. The germline of an organism has a heterogeneous composition - of germ cells at different stages of maturation and mature gametes, often supported and influenced by their accessory somatic tissues.

The annotated and predicted genomes of five archaeal strains (AS1, AS2, AS8, AS11 and AS19), isolated from Sfax solar saltern sediments (Tunisia) and affiliated with , were performed by RAST webserver (Rapid Annotation using Subsystem Technology) and NCBI prokaryotic genome annotation pipeline (PGAP). The results showed the ability of strains to use a reduced semi-phosphorylative Entner-Doudoroff pathway for glucose degradation and an Embden-Meyerhof one for gluconeogenesis. They could use glucose, fructose, glycerol, and acetate as sole source of carbon and energy.
