Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) generated from the Maillard reaction (MR) during food processing in the human physiological environment, have been proven to be significantly associated with various chronic metabolic diseases. In this study, 18 flavonoids were investigated to study their effects on AGEs formation during MR within a glucose-lysine-arginine model system. Five AGEs- N-carboxymethyl-lysine (CML), N-carboxyethyl-lysine (CEL), pyrraline, pentosidine, and argpyrimidine-were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, with inhibitory rates ranging between 0 % and 71.

The cognitive alterations observed in individuals undergoing cancer treatments have garnered more attention recently. Chemotherapy can reduce nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) levels by inhibiting nicotinamide phosphoribosyl transferase (NAMPT). This reduction can make cancer cells more susceptible to oxidative damage and death and may also affect non-cancerous cells, particularly the brain cells.

Vrafmurine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B (BRAF) mutations, including both V600E and non-V600E variants, are infrequent in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), representing approximately 2% of lung adenocarcinomas. Activated BRAF mutations are regarded as an underappreciated oncogenic driver in NSCLC, typically occurring in a mutually exclusive manner with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, as well as ALK and ROS1 rearrangements. In recent years, advancements in multiple-gene panel testing have demonstrated that EGFR mutations and BRAF mutations can coexist.

Background: Based on the phase 3 PRODIGY study, neoadjuvant docetaxel, oxaliplatin, and S-1 (DOS) have emerged as a viable treatment option for Asian patients with resectable locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC). This phase 2 study evaluated the efficacy and safety of combining neoadjuvant durvalumab with DOS, followed by surgery and adjuvant durvalumab plus S-1 chemotherapy, for resectable LAGC.
Methods: Patients with LAGC with cT2/3N+or cT4Nany tumors were enrolled in this study.

Isoguanine nucleosides constructed by different heterocyclic skeletons play a significant role in the context of genetic code expansion, as well as for purine-purine base pairing. However, with respect to structure analysis, only limited information is available on this class of nucleosides.
