Secondary adrenal insufficiency is a life-threatening condition that may arise in the setting of iatrogenic Cushing syndrome. Intra-articular corticosteroid injections (IACs) are a standard treatment for osteoarthritis, and they carry a high risk of secondary central adrenal suppression (SAI). We present the case of a 43-year-old woman who was referred to reproductive endocrinology for evaluation of abnormal uterine bleeding with a provisional diagnosis of perimenopause.

Disorders of temporomandibular joint (TMDs) are characterised by a variety of symptoms, including discomfort in the orofacial region, muscle tenderness, restricted jaw motion and noise at the joint. Additional neurological symptoms such as headaches, vertigo, heaviness, and altered vision may also coexist with TMDs. Because prostaglandin production is a critical mediator of inflammatory reaction and is inhibited by corticosteroids, they have anti-inflammatory effects.

One of the practical ways to manage the disease flares of arthritis is using an intra-articular depot formulation of glucocorticoids. Hydrogels, as controllable drug delivery systems, are hydrophilic polymers with distinctive properties, such as remarkable water capacity and biocompatibility. This study aimed to design an injectable thermo-ultrasound-triggered drug carrier based on Pluronic® F-127, hyaluronic acid, and gelatin.

Background: Intra-articular (IA) corticosteroids are regularly used in equine athletes for the control of joint inflammation.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to use an acute synovitis inflammation model to determine the residual effects of IA betamethasone and triamcinolone acetonide on various inflammatory parameters and lameness.

Study Design: Crossover randomised trial.

Background: Medically refractory chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is often treated with functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) and high-volume steroid nasal irrigation. While budesonide is the most common steroid irrigation for this indication, mometasone has a superior pharmacokinetic profile, which may allow dose escalation. The safety and efficacy of mometasone at higher concentrations than previously used in treating CRS have not been explored.
