Background: Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) appears to share some pathomechanisms with metabolic syndrome (MS), such as proinflammatory state, increased oxidative stress, changes in adipokine profile, and coagulation system activation.
Aim And Objectives: To evaluate clinical and laboratory parameters of MS in CSU patients and to assess relationship of MS with duration and severity of CSU, Ig-E, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), C-reactive protein (CRP), and autologous serum skin test (ASST).
Materials And Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted on 131 CSU cases and 131 controls who were age- and sex-matched.

Basophilic granulocytes, containing and releasing histamine after a specific allergy stimulation, are directly involved in IgE-mediated allergic reactions. CD63 is a transmembrane protein of secretory lysosomes of basophils and its upregulation is related with the release of histamine to the extracellular space during IgE-mediated allergic reactions. Basophil activation test (BAT) measures the activation of circulating basophils upon the stimulation of living blood cells with specific allergens.

Introduction: Because MRGPRX2 is now recognized as the mast cell receptor for basic secretagogues, there is currently a tremendous interest in whether MRGRPX2 could play an important role in various pruritic dermatoses such as chronic spontaneous urticaria. Therefore, we sought to identify new potent and selective antagonists to pharmacologically characterize the biological role of MRGPRX2.
Methods: Various relevant , , and model systems were used to investigate the role of MRGPRX2.
