Harmonized technical standard test methods for quality evaluation of medical fluorescence endoscopic imaging systems.

Vis Comput Ind Biomed Art

January 2025

School of Engineering Medicine and School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Beihang University, Beijing, 100191, China.

Fluorescence endoscopy technology utilizes a light source of a specific wavelength to excite the fluorescence signals of biological tissues. This capability is extremely valuable for the early detection and precise diagnosis of pathological changes. Identifying a suitable experimental approach and metric for objectively and quantitatively assessing the imaging quality of fluorescence endoscopy is imperative to enhance the image evaluation criteria of fluorescence imaging technology.

Study of Thermal Effects in Fused-Tapered Pure Passive Fibers and Signal Combiners.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

January 2025

School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing 100124, China.

This paper investigates the thermal effects in fused-tapered passive optical fibers under near-infrared absorption. The thermal effect is primarily caused by impurities, such as OH-, which absorb incident light and generate heat. Using the finite element method, the volume changes during fiber tapering were simulated, influencing power density and thermal distribution.

Biomass, though a major energy source, remains underutilized. Biochar from biomass pyrolysis, with its high porosity and surface area, is especially useful as catalyst support, enhancing catalytic activity and reducing electron recombination in photocatalysis. Indonesia, the world's top palm oil producer, generated around 12 million tons of empty fruit bunches (EFBs) in 2023, making EFBs a promising biochar source.

Solar Light-Driven Efficient Degradation of Organic Pollutants Mediated by S-Scheme MoS@TiO-Layered Structures.

Nanomaterials (Basel)

December 2024

Key Laboratory for Green Chemical Technology of the Ministry of Education, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300072, China.

This study focuses on achieving high photocatalytic activity using MoS/TiO heterostructures (MOT). To this end, MoS and TiO were synthesized by employing hydrothermal synthesis techniques, and then MoS/TiO heterostructures were synthesized by using 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4 ratios of MoS and TiO, respectively. While the structural and electronic changes for the 1:2 and 1:3 ratios were relatively minor, significant modifications in bandgaps and morphology were observed for the 1:1 and 1:4 ratios.
