Controlled synthesis of faceted nanoparticles on surfaces without explicit use of ligands has gained attention due to their promising applications in electrocatalysis and chemical sensing. Electrodeposition is a desirable method; however, precise control over their size, spatial distribution, and morphology requires extensive optimization. Here, we report the spatially resolved synthesis of shape-controlled Pt nanoparticles and fast screening of synthesis conditions in scanning electrochemical cell microscopy (SECCM) with pulse potentials.

Introduction: Accurate measurement is critical for understanding the population health impact of nicotine pouches, yet precise, standardized measures of nicotine pouch use are lacking, possibly driving disparate prevalence estimates across studies. We implemented a split sample survey experiment to assess the impact of including a product image when asking about nicotine pouches.
Methods: We randomized an online sample of US adults ages 18-45 (N=2,130) recruited through the February 2023 wave of the Rutgers Omnibus Study to view either a text-only or text-plus-image description of oral nicotine pouches before being asked about awareness of the products.

The advent of millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, coupled with reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), presents a significant opportunity for advancing wireless communication technologies. This integration enhances data transmission rates and broadens coverage areas, but challenges in channel estimation (CE) remain due to the limitations of the signal processing capabilities of RIS. To address this, we propose an adaptive channel estimation framework comprising two algorithms: log-sum normalized least mean squares (Log-Sum NLMS) and hybrid normalized least mean squares-normalized least mean fourth (Hybrid NLMS-NLMF).

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the level of physical activity (PA) has been reported to decrease worldwide. A sedentary lifestyle is widely recognized as a significant risk factor for various diseases, necessitating extensive big data analysis to uncover the diverse aspects linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on PA levels across diverse population subsets in Iran and to identify the barriers to PA during the fifth wave of COVID-19 outbreak.

Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) offers a cost-effective method to measure cerebral hemodynamics. This study used fNIRS to evaluate the effect of ECT in patients suffering from schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (manic phase).
