We compared the enzymatic, coagulant, and neuromuscular activities of two variants (yellow-CDRy and white-CDRw) of venom with a sample of (CDT) venom and examined their neutralization by antivenom against CDT venom. The venoms were screened for enzymatic and coagulant activities using standard assays, and electrophoretic profiles were compared by SDS-PAGE. Neutralization was assessed by preincubating venoms with crotalic antivenom and assaying the residual activity.

Chinese coral snakes () are highly neglected regarding their venom profiles and harm to humans, which impedes our ability to deeply understand their biological properties and explore their medicinal potential. In this study, we performed a comparative analysis to reveal the venom profiles of two Chinese coral snakes in terms of their venom yields, proteomic profiles, and immunorecognition by commercial antivenoms. The results showed that expels more venom (lyophilized venom mass) than but possesses a similar solid venom content.

Background: The variations in alliin content are a crucial criterion for evaluating garlic quality and is the sole precursor for allicin biosynthesis, which is significant for the growth, development, and stress response of garlic. WRKY transcription factors are essential for enhancing stress resistance by regulating the synthesis of plant secondary metabolites. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating alliin biosynthesis remain unexplored.

The integration of multiple functionalities into single theranostic platforms offers new opportunities for personalized and minimally invasive clinical interventions, positioning these materials as highly promising tools in modern medicine. Thereby, magneto-luminescent Janus-like nanoparticles (JNPs) were developed herein, and encapsulated into near-infrared (NIR) light- and pH- responsive micelle-like aggregates (Mic) for simultaneous magnetic targeting, biomedical imaging, photothermal therapy, and pH- NIR-light activated drug delivery. The JNPs consisted of NaYF:Yb,Tm upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) on which a well-differentiated magnetite structure (MNPs) grew epitaxially.

Background: Tacrolimus is widely used as a first-line immunosuppressant in transplant immunology; however, its clinical application is constrained by the narrow therapeutic index and considerable interindividual variability. In this study, we identified the potential regulatory role of a novel promoter polymorphism, rs4519508 C > T, in the tacrolimus pharmacodynamic pathway.
Methods: Dual-luciferase reporter assays and bioinformatic analysis were applied to assess the impact of allelic variation.
