The rising prevalence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Gram-positive bacteria threatens the effectiveness of current antibiotic therapies. However, the development of new antibiotics has stagnated in recent years, highlighted the critical need for the discovery of innovative antimicrobial agents. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial activity of naphthoquinones derived from Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst (ADNs) and elucidate their underlying mechanisms.

Introduction: WhiA is a conserved protein found in numerous bacteria. It consists of an HTH DNA-binding domain linked with a homing endonuclease (HEN) domain. WhiA is one of the most conserved transcription factors in reduced bacteria of the class Mollicutes.

Despite this, the role of HDL-like cholesterol trafficking on Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis remains poorly understood. We aimed to examine cholesterol transport via HDL-like particles in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of AD patients compared to control individuals.

Loss of the alarmone (p)ppGpp disrupts GTP regulation in , causing cell death in the presence of exogenous guanosine and underscoring the critical importance of GTP homeostasis. To investigate the basis of guanosine toxicity, we performed a genetic selection for spontaneous mutations that suppress this effect, uncovering an unexpected link between GTP synthesis and glycolysis.

While macrocyclic lactones (MLs) are successful at treating adult infections when used at FDA-approved doses in dogs, they fail to kill somatic third-stage larvae. In this study, we profiled the transcriptome of third-stage larvae derived from larvated eggs and treated with 10 µM of the MLs - ivermectin and moxidectin with Illumina sequencing.
