Background: This dual burden of tuberculosis (TB) and diabetes mellitus (DM) has become a global public health concern. This study aims to compare drug resistance in drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) patients with and without DM and analyse the risk factors of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB).
Methods: A total of 893 DR-TB patients were admitted to Wenzhou Central Hospital between January 2018 and December 2022.
Background: Current tuberculosis treatment regimens primarily rely on phenotypic drug susceptibility testing and rapid molecular assays. Although whole-genome sequencing (WGS) offers a promising alternative, disagreements between phenotypic and molecular testing methods remain. In this retrospective study, we compared the phenotypic and WGS-predicted drug resistance profiles of paired isolates with small genetic distances (≤10 single nucleotide variants) obtained from patients with longitudinal single-episode or recurrent tuberculosis.

Background: Keloids are aberrant dermal wound healing characterized by invasive growth, extracellular matrix deposition, cytokine overexpression and easy recurrence. Many factors have been implicated as pathological causes of keloids, particularly hyperactive inflammation, tension alignment and genetic predisposition. S-Nitrosylation (SNO), a unique form of protein modification, is associated with the local inflammatory response but its function in excessive fibrosis and keloid formation remains unknown.

Buruli ulcer (BU) is a chronic necrotizing skin disease caused by Mycobacterium ulcerans. Historically, the disease was treated by surgical excision of the skin lesions, until an 8-week combination therapy of rifampicin and streptomycin was introduced in 2004. This treatment modality was effective and reduced recurrence rates.
