Upper limb lymphedema is the most common complication after breast cancer therapy. Suddenly disturbed lymphatic transport in the affected arm causes tissue fluid accumulation in tissue spaces, limb enlargement, and secondary changes in tissue. Early compression therapy is necessary.

Unlabelled: Echocardiographic myocardial strain is crucial for early detection of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity, particularly in patients at moderate or high risk.

Background/objectives: This study investigates changes in global longitudinal strain (GLS) in breast cancer patients with low baseline risk for cardiotoxicity during cancer therapy. We also examined the relationship between echocardiographic strain, structural myocardial changes, and microRNA (miRNA) dysregulation associated with cancer treatment using an animal model.

Pseudopregnancy in dromedary camels: Characterization, prevalence, and clinical and hormonal properties.

Theriogenology

January 2025

Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. Electronic address:

Pseudopregnancy is the development of signs of pregnancy in the absence of an embryo or fetus. The objectives of this study were to characterize pseudopregnancy in dromedary camels, determine its prevalence in camel farms and practice, identify associated risk factors, and describe its clinical and hormonal properties. The prevalence of pseudopregnancy on 100 camel farms with 4264 total female camels was determined to be 2.

Identifying phase-separated structures remains challenging, and effective intervention methods are currently lacking. Here we screened for phase-separated proteins in breast tumour cells and identified forkhead (FKH) box protein M1 (FOXM1) as the most prominent candidate. Oncogenic FOXM1 underwent liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) with FKH consensus DNA element, and compartmentalized the transcription apparatus in the nucleus, thereby sustaining chromatin accessibility and super-enhancer landscapes crucial for tumour metastatic outgrowth.

Objective: This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of the preoperative dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) findings of mass lesions for predicting sentinel lymph node (SLN) metastasis in early breast cancer.

Methods: A total of 310 patients with suspicious mass lesions detected in preoperative MRI who subsequently underwent surgery and SLN biopsy (SLNB) between September 2015 and September 2022 were analyzed. The relationship between DCE-MRI and DWI findings and SLNB positivity was analyzed.
