This study aims to evaluate the prognostic significance of various laboratory parameters in predicting the length of hospital stay and mortality among pediatric patients undergoing lobectomy and pneumonectomy for infectious or noninfectious diseases. This study was conducted by retrospective data analysis of 59 pediatric patients who underwent lobectomy and pneumonectomy due to variable diseases at the department of chest surgery. Pediatric patients diagnosed with variable diseases and who underwent lobectomy or pneumonectomy, patients who were hospitalized during the study period and underwent surgical intervention, and patients who had at least one laboratory parameter recorded before surgery were included in the study.

Objectives: The study aimed to identify perioperative variables associated with unplanned reoperation (UR) following anatomical pulmonary resection for lung cancer and investigate its impact on long-term prognostic outcomes.
Methods: The records of patients who underwent anatomical pulmonary resection for lung cancer from December 2016 to March 2018 within a nationwide prospective registry were reviewed. Multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to find the risk factors for UR.

Background: Lymphadenectomy is considered a key part of the radical treatment of resectable lung cancer, although its appropriate extension in early stages is a debated topic due to the great heterogeneity of studies in the literature. This study aims to evaluate the impact of lymphadenectomy extent on survival and recurrence in the treatment of early-stage NSCLC patients undergoing lobectomy and lymph node dissection.
Methods: Data from clinical stage I NSCLC patients undergoing lobectomy and hilar-mediastinal lymphadenectomy at two thoracic surgery centers from 2016 to 2019 were retrospectively evaluated.

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the surgical efficacy of one-stage and two-stage video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for bilateral multiple pulmonary nodules (BMPNs).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was made of 156 patients, 84 who underwent one-stage and 72 who underwent two-stage VATS for BMPNs at our department between January 2019 and December 2022. Perioperative and long-term outcomes were compared between the two groups using propensity score-matched (PSM) analysis.
