Surfaces capable of specific biomolecule recognition are essential for cancer theranostics, biosensing, and tissue engineering. However, current grafting methods, critical for dictating the recognition efficiency and biocompatibility of biomaterials, especially hydrophilic polymers, struggle to balance high grafting density with ease of implementation. In pursuit of a simple, effective, and versatile solution, we introduced a polydopamine (PDA)-assisted Ca-mediated grafting strategy using hyaluronic acid (HA) as a model material.

The favorable redox properties of ferrocene have led to the extensive development of ferrocene-based systems for several electrochemical applications but have scarcely been explored for electrochromism. Here, we report the synthesis and electrochromic properties of novel π-conjugated ferrocene-dicyanovinylene systems (- and -). Monosubstituted (-) and disubstituted (-) compounds have been developed via Knoevenagel condensation of methyl-dicyanovinyl ferrocenes ( or ) with various aromatic aldehydes.

Chiral allyl amines are important structural components in natural products, pharmaceuticals, and chiral catalysts. Herein, we report a cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective reductive coupling of imines with internal alkynes to synthesize chiral allyl amines. The reaction is catalyzed by a cobalt complex derived from commercially available bisphosphine ligand utilizing zinc as the electron donor.

The interaction between proteins and aroma compounds significantly impacts cheese flavor retention during processing. However, it is still unknown how cheese proteins and the aldehyde aroma compounds (AACs) interact. This study aims to clarify the interaction mechanisms between the AACs (benzaldehyde, 2-methylpropanal, 2-methylbutanal and 3-methylbutanal) and β-casein (β-CN) using SPME-GC/MS, multi-spectroscopy techniques, and molecular dynamics simulations.
