Synthesis and antitumor activity of ultra-low molecular weight hyaluronic acid-decorated camptothecin conjugates.

Carbohydr Polym

March 2025

National Glycoengineering Research Center and Shandong Key Laboratory of Carbohydrate Chemistry and Glycobiology, Shandong University, Qingdao, Shandong 266237, China; Suzhou Research Institute of Shandong University, Suzhou, Jiangsu 215123, China. Electronic address:

Camptothecin (CPT) exhibits potent anticancer activity, but its clinical application is limited by poor solubility and severe side effects. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is gaining attention in drug delivery systems due to its excellent biocompatibility and tumor-targeting properties. In this study, we conjugated CPT to the reducing end of ultra-low molecular weight HA to create a series of HA-decorated CPT conjugates.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the main histological subtype of lung cancer. For locally advanced and advanced NSCLC, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-targeted therapy has been the first choice for NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations. TKIs, as targeted drugs, inhibit kinase activity and autophosphorylation by competitively binding to the ATP binding site of the EGFR tyrosine kinase domain, which blocks the signal transduction mediated by EGFR and thus inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells.

Deer antler reserve mesenchyme cells modified with miR-145 promote chondrogenesis in cartilage regeneration.

Front Vet Sci

December 2024

Laboratory of Production and Product Application of Sika Deer of Jilin Province, Jilin Agricultural University, Changchun, China.

Deer antler-derived reserve mesenchyme cells (RMCs) are a promising source of cells for cartilage regeneration therapy due to their chondrogenic differentiation potential. However, the regulatory mechanism has not yet been elucidated. In this study, we analyzed the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in regulating the differentiation of RMCs and in the post-transcriptional regulation of chondrogenesis and hypertrophic differentiation at the molecular and histological levels.

The Modulation of Fibrosis in Vocal Fold Repair: A Study on c-Met Agonistic Antibodies and Hepatocyte Growth in Animal Studies.

Medicina (Kaunas)

December 2024

Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea, Seoul 06591, Republic of Korea.

: Damage to the vocal folds frequently results in fibrosis, which can degrade vocal quality due to the buildup of collagen and modifications in the extracellular matrix (ECM). Conventional treatments have shown limited success in reversing fibrotic changes. Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and c-Met-targeting antibodies are promising due to their potential to inhibit fibrosis and promote regeneration.
