The development of new protocols for stereospecific and stereoselective halogenation transformations by mild reaction conditions is a highly desirable research target for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Following the straightforward methodology for directly transforming a wide scope of alcohols to alkyl bromides and chlorides using substoichiometric amounts of thioureas and N-halo succinimides (NXS) as a halogen source in a single step, we noticed that in apolar solvents bromination of chiral secondary alcohols did not produce the expected racemates. In this study, the stereochemical aspects of the bromination reaction were examined.

Targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) was originally developed to enhance prosthetic control in amputees. However, it has also serendipitously demonstrated benefits in reducing phantom pain and neuromas. As a result, it has emerged as a secondary treatment for chronic neuromas in amputees and holds promise for managing neuropathic pain in non-amputee patients, particularly those with neuromas.

Introduction: Triphallia, a rare congenital anomaly describing the presence of three distinct penile shafts, has been reported only once in the literature. This case report, based on an extensive literature review, describes the serendipitous discovery during cadaveric dissection of the second reported human case of triphallia, distinctly morphologically different from the previous case.
Case Presentation: Despite the normal appearance of external genitalia on examination, the dissection of a 78-year-old white male revealed a remarkable anatomical variation: two small supernumerary penises stacked in a sagittal orientation posteroinferiorly to the primary penis.

Acute hepatitis can result from a wide variety of noninfectious causes that include, but are not limited to, drugs (drug-induced hepatitis), alcohol (alcoholic hepatitis), immunologic (autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis), or as a result of indirect insult secondary to biliary tract dysfunction (cholestatic hepatitis), pregnancy-related liver dysfunction, shock, or metastatic disease. In clinical settings, these causes are not uncommon to overlap with each other or are masked by obviously visible causes in medical history. We reported our scenario of a patient who has a heavy history of alcohol use and presented with alcohol withdrawal symptoms and a marked elevation of liver enzymes.
