The ubiquitous presence, potential toxicity, and persistence of 2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate (EHDPP) in the environment have raised significant concerns. In this study, we successfully isolate a novel microbial consortium, named 8-ZY, and we demonstrate its remarkable ability to degrade EHDPP using an extremely low concentration of the inoculate. A total of 11 degradation metabolites were identified, including hydrolysis, hydroxylated, methylated, glucuronide-conjugated, and previously unreported byproducts, enabling us to propose new transformation pathways.

Introduction: The experiences of UK Government response-focused employees, who were considered frontline workers during the coronavirus response, are missing from current literature. Meeting the demands of being on the frontline, whilst also adjusting from a normal and practiced way of working to having to work from within one's home, may bring a plethora of new barriers and facilitators associated with providing an effective pandemic response.
Method: This interview study collected and analysed data from 30 UK Civil servants who worked on the COVID-19 pandemic response from their own homes.

Manganese (Mn), abundant in the Earth's crust, can act as an oxidant or a reductant for diverse nitrogen biotransformation processes. However, the functional microorganisms and their metabolic pathways, as well as interactions, remain largely elusive. Here, a microbial consortium was enriched from a mixture of freshwater sediments and activated sludge by feeding ammonium, nitrate and Mn(II), which established manganese-driven co-removal of nitrate and ammonium with removal rates of 5.

In this study, the water-energy nexus is investigated throughout coupling the Water Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) and Low Emission Analysis Platform (LEAP) models under the climate change effects in the Marun basin, Iran. For this purpose, first, the climate change effects on water resources and consumption nodes are calculated under representative concentration pathway (RCP) scenarios from the fifth report of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Artificial neural network (ANN) is used to model river inflow and Cropwat model is used for agricultural water demand in future time (2015-2040).

This study expands the original two-dimensional carbon footprint model into a three-dimensional model form. Introduce two indicators of carbon footprint depth (CF) and size (CF) to form a three-dimensional carbon footprint model (CF), which is used to respectively represent the occupation and consumption of natural capital reserves by human activities' carbon emissions. Based on the 3D carbon footprint model, this paper calculated the CF, CF, and CF for four different urban agglomerations of China (BTH, YRD, PRD, and CY) spanning from 2000 to 2017.
