Background: Since 1996, a team of medical psychologists, nephrologists, and urologists at Heidelberg University Hospital has developed a family-oriented consultation procedure for donors, recipients, and family members before living kidney transplantation. Qualitative content analyses of these consultations and their follow-up histories are presented, with particular focus on "problem cases."

305 patients suffering from chronic urticaria were tested according to a special program, which combined the common allergologic skin testing with the searching for foci of inflammation. The central part of the diagnosis, however, are oral provocation tests during potato/rice diet with non-steroidal antiphlogistic agents and so-called food additives as well as "natural" salicylates. Acetylsalicylic acid and indomethacin most frequently caused reactions of intolerance, whereas all of the patients tolerated paracetamol (500 mg) without any reactions.

The remote results of combined therapy of 300 patients with chronic pyoderma were estimated by the data of the 5-year catamneses. The patients were treated with the use of erycycline, a combined drug consisting of two antibiotics made in the USSR. Stable clinical recovery within 5 years was stated in 78.
