Hops ( L.) are widely recognized for their use in brewing, but they also possess significant pharmacological properties due to their rich bioactive compounds, with many varieties exhibiting diverse characteristics. This study investigates the chemical composition and biological activities of extracts from six hop varieties, focusing on quantifying xanthohumol and lupulone using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Total Phenolic Content (TPC) analysis.

Background: The rapid decline in ovarian function associated with menopause promotes osteoclast differentiation and increases bone resorption, disrupting of bone homeostasis and increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a polysaccharide ubiquitously present in the connective tissues. Recent reports indicate that high-molecular-weight HA (HMW-HA) promotes osteoblast proliferation, enhances alkaline phosphatase activity and mineral deposition, and promotes the expression of bone differentiation markers, such as Runx2 and osteocalcin.

Introduction: Information about analyte stability is of crucial importance. The aims of this study were to determine the short- and long-term stability of synovial fluid calprotectin at various temperature conditions (4-8 °C for 7 days, - 20 °C and - 80 °C for 6 weeks).

Although Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) shows significant promise in chemodynamic therapy of bacterial infections due to its large specific surface area and enzyme-like activity, it still faces a considerable gap compared to natural enzymes. The dependency on low pH and high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide ((HO) is a major factor limiting the clinical progress of nanozymes. Single-atom nanozymes (SA-zyme), which exhibit superior catalytic performance, are expected to overcome this limitation.
