Indomethacin (8 mg/kg per os) induced small-intestinal ulcers which were associated with an increased percentage of total number and T-helper peripheral lymphocytes. An increase in intestinal flora and a decrease in mucosal permeability due to indomethacin treatment are among the factors which favour the cytotoxic T-cell reactions and the resulting increase in lymphocytes.
