A large portion of the Intrinsically Disordered Regions (IDRs) in protein sequences interact with proteins, nucleic acids, and other types of ligands. Correspondingly, dozens of sequence-based predictors of binding IDRs were developed. A recently completed second community-based Critical Assessments of protein Intrinsic Disorder prediction (CAID2) evaluated 32 predictors of binding IDRs.

In wound study and dressing development, a lack of a suitable animal model that can recapitulate the complex pathophysiology of human chronic wounds has been a major hurdle. Chronic wounds are defined as wounds that heal with a significant delay, usually over a period >2-3 months, but no current animal wound model has such a longischemia. After a longexploration, our group has developed an animal wound model with ischemia and nerve damage lasting for at least 6 months.

The differentiation between benign and malignant brain lesions remains a fundamental challenge in modern neuroimaging. This case highlights a rare presentation of ectatic Virchow-Robin spaces (VRS), which mimicked tumefactive brain lesions and required a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to exclude neoplastic, infectious, and inflammatory processes. A 37-year-old female presented with progressive headache, cognitive impairment, and facial pain.

Inflammatory bowel disease, particularly Crohn's disease (CD), has been linked to modifications in mesenteric adipose tissue (MAT) and the phenomenon known as "creeping fat" (CrF). The presence of CrF is believed to serve as a predictor for early clinical recurrence following surgical intervention in patients with CD. Notably, the incorporation of the mesentery during ileocolic resection for CD has been correlated with a decrease in surgical recurrence, indicating the significant role of MAT in the pathogenesis of CD.
