Cotton is essential for the global textile industry however, climate change, especially extreme temperatures, threatens sustainable cotton production. This research aims to identify breeding strategies to improve heat tolerance and utilize stress-resistant traits in cotton cultivars. This study investigated heat tolerance for 50 cotton genotypes at the seedling stage by examining various traits at three temperatures (32 °C, 45 °C and 48 °C) in a randomized plot experiment.

5-Lipoxygenase (5-LO), encoded by the gene , is implicated in several pathologies. As key enzyme in leukotriene biosynthesis, 5-LO plays a central role in inflammatory diseases, but the 5-LO pathway has also been linked to development of certain hematological and solid tumor malignancies. Of note, previous studies have shown that the leukemogenic fusion protein MLL-AF4 strongly increases gene promoter activity.

Sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors represent a novel class of hypoglycemic drugs that have emerged in recent years. These inhibitors function primarily by blocking the reabsorption of glucose in the kidneys, specifically targeting the SGLT2 proteins in the proximal convoluted tubules. This inhibition results in the reduction of blood glucose levels through increased glucose excretion in the urine.

In human aging, liver aging per se not only increases susceptibility to liver diseases but also increases vulnerability of other organs given its central role in regulating metabolism. Total liver function tends to be well maintained in the healthy elderly, so liver aging is generally difficult to identify early. In response to this critical challenge, the Aging Biomarker Consortium of China has formulated an expert consensus on biomarkers of liver aging by synthesizing the latest scientific literature, comprising insights from both scientists and clinicians.

Background: Mechanisms underlying the association of life-course adiposity with incident hypertension in adulthood have not been comprehensively investigated. In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential biochemical and metabolomic mechanisms underlying the association between adiposity and incident hypertension.
Methods: A total of 180,527 participants from the UK Biobank aged 37 to 73 years were included.
