Objective: We report post hoc analyses of efficacy with first-line avelumab plus axitinib or sunitinib according to baseline neutrophil-to-eosinophil ratio (NER) in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (aRCC) from the JAVELIN Renal 101 phase 3 trial.

Methods And Analysis: Progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) and objective response per baseline NER were analysed in the overall population and in patients with programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1+) tumours. Multivariable Cox regression analyses to assess the effect of NER after adjustment for other baseline variables were conducted.

Background: Long-term (2-year) effectiveness of upadacitinib for atopic dermatitis (AD) is unknown in real-world practice.

Objective: To evaluate 96-week real-world effectiveness of upadacitinib in Japanese patients with moderate-to-severe AD, stratified by the presence or absence of prior systemic therapies.

Methods: This prospective study included 327 Japanese patients treated with upadacitinib 15 mg (n = 248) or 30 mg (n = 79).

The Role of Key Molecules of Pyroptosis in Liver Damage of Rats With Exertional Heat Stroke.

Gastroenterol Res Pract

January 2025

Department of Hepatobiliary Disease, 900th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force, Fuzhou General Clinical Medical College of Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou, Fujian, China.

This study is aimed at investigating the role of key molecular elements involved in pyroptosis in liver injury caused by exertional heat stroke (EHS). We established a model of EHS-induced liver injury in Sprague-Dawley rats, with a control group (receiving no treatment) for comparison and 12 rats in each group. Alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST) levels in the blood were detected.

Objective: This study was undertaken to assess the association between the likelihood of surgical recurrence and serum ECP and TIgE levels in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP).

Methodology: Clinical information was gathered retrospectively from 166 cases of surgically treated CRSwNP as well as 60 cases of chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps (CRSsNP). A comparative analysis on serum levels of total immunoglobulin E (TIgE) and eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) was carried out between the two groups.

Background: Patients with asthma exhibit a significantly heightened susceptibility to eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) when compared to the general population. Vigilance for EGPA manifestations is crucial, especially in cases where asthma remains poorly controlled despite high-dose corticosteroid therapy or when eosinophil counts exceed 5%. The diagnosis of EGPA can be complex due to the absence of definitive biomarkers, as indicated by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR)'s 1990 classification criteria.
