Autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) is a treatment option for relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) that are refractory to disease-modifying therapy (DMT). AHSCT after failure of high-efficacy DMT in aggressive forms of relapsing-remitting MS is a generally accepted indication, yet the optimal placement of this approach in the treatment sequence is not universally agreed upon. Uncertainties also remain with respect to other indications, such as in rapidly evolving, severe, treatment-naive MS, progressive MS, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).

This study quantified the relative difficulty between levels and investigated their reliability, ability to depict practice effects, and user acceptance.

Methods: Healthy volunteers played each game, covering five cognitive domains, twice per day for 11 consecutive days.

[Teratovigilance. Antiepileptics during pregnancy and paternal use].

Rev Med Suisse

January 2025

Swiss Teratogen Information Service, Service de pharmacologie clinique, Département de médecine, Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois, 1011 Lausanne.

The 2023-2024 updates on teratovigilance, with a focus on antiseizure medications, highlight several key points. American medical societies have revised their recommendations: maintaining effective seizure control is essential for both maternal and fetal health; lamotrigine, levetiracetam, and oxcarbazepine are preferred first-line treatments, whereas valproic acid and topiramate should be avoided if possible. In March 2024, an update on topiramate indicated an increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders with prenatal exposure.
