Spectrofluorimetry and room temperature photochemically-induced fluorescence (RTPF) have been applied to the determination of sulphacetamide (SAC), sulphaguanidine (SG) and sulphamethazine (SMT) in milk and pharmaceutical formulations. The methods are suitable for determining 0.02-0.10 micrograms ml of SAC, 0.10-0.50 micrograms ml of SG, and 0.40-1.00 micrograms of SMT.
Hypertension is the predominant risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and mortality. This study presents the first method for the simultaneous analysis of the co-administered antihypertensive drugs, Carvedilol (CAR) and Telmisartan (TEL) using a fast, highly sensitive, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective second derivative synchronous spectrofluorimetric approach. The fluorescence of CAR and TEL was quantified at 243 nm and 274.
Clonazepam, a high-potency benzodiazepine widely prescribed for seizure and panic disorders, carries a risk of abuse and dependency. This study developed a sensitive and selective spectrofluorimetric method for determining 7-aminoclonazepam, the major metabolite of clonazepam, in human urine. A 2 factorial design was employed to screen the optimal conditions for derivatization with NBD-Cl as the fluorescent label, considering factors such as pH, reagent volumes, temperature, and reaction time.
