This study examined differences in quit attempts, 1-month quit success, and vaping status at follow-up among a cohort of 3709 daily smokers with and without depression, anxiety, and regular alcohol use who participated in both the 2018 and 2020 International Tobacco Control Four Country Smoking and Vaping (ITC 4CV) Surveys. At baseline, a survey with validated screening tools was used to classify respondents as having no, or one or more of the following: 1) depression, 2) anxiety, and 3) regular alcohol use. Multivariable adjusted regression analyses were used to examine whether baseline (2018) self-report conditions were associated with quit attempts; quit success; and vaping status by follow-up (2020).

Inappropriate birth weight for gestational age (IBWGA) is linked with obstetric complications like birth asphyxia, hypothermia, and postpartum hemorrhage. This study was aimed at determining the prevalence of IBWGA with factors associated with newborns born at Dessie Referral Hospital, northeast of Ethiopia. We used a retrospective cohort study design and systematic random sampling method to select charts of women giving birth at the hospital from January 2013 to December 2017.

Introduction: Secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure is a serious public health problem. This study aims to collect data on tobacco control since the implementation of the new version of the Smoke Control Ordinance in Public Places of Hangzhou (the Ordinance), combined with questionnaire surveys to understand the SHS exposure situation in public places, relevant knowledge and attitudes of residents in Hangzhou.

Methods: We used data from a population-based tobacco control survey of 2746 adults aged 15-75 years conducted in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in March 2023.
