Background: Neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) are routinely used in anesthesia practice. An undetected, incomplete recovery of neuromuscular function at the end of surgery potentially exposes patients to clinical deterioration in the postoperative period. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence of postoperative residual neuromuscular blockade (RNMB) in a cohort of patients receiving NMBAs.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is one of the most harmful pathogens in the swine industry. Our previous studies demonstrated that the small extracellular domain (ECL2) of CLDN4 effectively blocks PRRSV infection. In this study, we explored the in vivo administration of swine ECL2 (sECL2) and found that it blocked HP-PRRSV infection and alleviated histopathological changes in organs.

Hyperactive c-Met signaling pathway caused by altered MET is a common mechanism underlying gastric cancer and represents an attractive target for the treatment of gastric cancer with MET alterations. However, no c-Met kinase inhibitors are currently approved specifically for the treatment of c-Met-amplified gastric cancer. Recently, bozitinib, a highly selective c-Met kinase inhibitor, has shown remarkable potency in selectively inhibiting MET-altered non-small cell lung cancer and secondary glioblastoma.

Nearly one billion individuals worldwide suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and are potentially impacted by related neurodegeneration. TFEB is considered a master regulator of autophagy and lysosomal biogenesis, but little is known about its role in neuronal oxidative stress and resultant injury induced by OSA. This study aimed to investigate these issues.

Cervical plexus block (CPB), like other types of regional anesthesia, represents an alternative anesthetic technique in those cases where the performance of general anesthesia (GA) carries an increased risk both for the patient and the outcome of the operative treatment. It has traditionally been used for years in carotid surgery as an alternative to GA, especially due to the possibility of superior monitoring - the awake patient. However, its effectiveness has been proven in other types of neck surgery, primarily in thyroid surgery, neck dissections, tracheostomy, central venous catheter insertion, clavicle surgery, etc.
