According to the results of modern researchers, the main techniques used in congenital pathology of the aortic valve in children include balloon catheter dilatation of the aortic valve, surgical valvuloplasty, the Ross procedure and replacement of the aortic valve with a mechanical prosthesis. Many surgeons point out that these techniques in congenital pathology of the aortic valve yield suboptimal results. This is often due to the lack of a clear-cut definition between surgeons as to what operation should be performed in a particular age group.

Surgical policy in treatment of patients suffering from concomitant valvular pathology and ischaemic heart disease is an extremely important problem of contemporary cardiac surgery. With the advent of advanced techniques and due to the improvement of old ones, there have over the last decades appeared new approaches to treatment of this cohort of patients. Presented in the article is a review of current publications regarding the problem of surgical treatment of patients with a combination of pronounced valvular pathology requiring surgical correction and ischaemic heart disease necessitating the need for myocardial revascularization.

Aim: The aim of our investigation was to assess the remote results of valve-sparing aortic root reimplantation into the graft (Florida Sleeve technique) compared with reimplantation of the aortic valve into the graft (David technique) during surgical correction of ascending aortic aneurysms accompanied by concomitant aortic insufficiency.
Patients And Methods: Our single-centre, blind, prospective, randomized study carried out from 2011 to 2015 included a total of 64 patients with ascending aortic aneurysms and aortic insufficiency. The patients were randomized into 2 groups: group I - aortic root reimplantation according to the Florida Sleeve technique (FS group) and group II - reimplantation of the aortic valve according to the T.

Objectives And Design: At the present time there are two waiting list for patients with vascular prosthetic infection indicated for arterial transplantation in the Czech Republic. The inclusion of each patient for cold-stored or cryopreserved arterial transplantation is the preference of indicating surgeon. In this experimental work we studied the immunogenicity of rat aortal allografts treated by our new clinical cryopreservation/slow thawing protocol.

The authors carried out comparative assessment of in-hospital outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and «open» prosthetic repair of the aortic valve. The main criterion for inclusion into the study was the presence of indications for surgical correction of an isolated defect of the aortic valve (AV). Group One comprised 11 patients subjected to TAVI and Group Two (comparison group) consisted of 23 patients undergoing «open» prosthetic repair of the AV.
