It has been proved by medicinal practice that the extraction from chicken bile has excellent antiphlogistic and anti-tumour effects. Chicken bile and the biles of various animals were dried and after IR spectral analyses, different IR spectra can be obtained with the resulting powders. In comparison with IR spectra, the IR spectrum from chicken bile is significantly different with that of other animals; whereas there are very good consistency among the chicken biles from different origin samples. The analyses of chicken bile show the chemical composition of chicken bile is different from that of other animals and the biles of different chicken have essentially same chemical composition.

Paddy rice ingestion increases intestinal mucin secretion and production by enhancing MUC2 gene expression and epithelial turnover. In this study, we performed a comprehensive analysis of intestinal gene expression in chickens fed paddy rice and investigated whether the intestinal IgA response was modified by paddy rice ingestion. Furthermore, we investigated the possible involvement of gut fermentation.

Fasting is beneficial to alleviate fatty liver, lose weight and improve reproductive function. However, previous studies have shown that, during fasting, disorders of bile acid metabolism were strongly associated with intestinal inflammation. The physiological and biochemical parameters and gene expression of multiple tissues of chickens at every critical time node were measured by ELISA and qPCR.

Fatty liver hemorrhagic syndrome (FLHS) in laying hens is a nutritional and metabolic disease involving liver enlargement, hepatic steatosis, and hepatic hemorrhage as the primary symptoms. The syndrome is prone to occur during the peak laying period of laying hens, which has resulted in significant economic losses in the laying hen breeding industry; however, the specific pathogenesis of FLHS remains unclear. Our group and previous studies have shown that bile acid levels are significantly decreased during the development of fatty liver and that targeted activation of bile acid-related signaling pathways is beneficial for preventing and treating fatty liver.

Research has shown various hydrolyzed proteins possessed beneficial physiological functions; however, the mechanism of how hydrolysates influence metabolism is unclear. Therefore, the current study aimed to examine the effects of different sources of protein hydrolysates, being the main dietary protein source in extruded diets, on metabolism in healthy adult dogs. Three complete and balanced extruded canine diets were formulated: control chicken meal diet (CONd), chicken liver and heart hydrolysate diet (CLHd), mechanically separated chicken hydrolysate diet (CHd).
