The MMPI scores, the PPI and the MPQ of seven multi-operated patients for chronic pain complaints of non malignant origin were studied. The results of the analysis performed in this group of surgically treated patients point out that there is a strong evidence of relationship between personality traits and the persistence of pain.

We report a surgically challenging case, in the context of a diagnosis of juvenile glaucoma refractory to drug therapy, multi-operated, known patient with congenital ichthyosis, part of Dorfman-Chanarin Syndrome (DCS), with a single functional eye. She is a young patient (54) and housewife in an urban environment known to have DCS and BE (both eyes), strong myopia, and congenital nystagmus. She initially underwent cataract surgery in 2015 and again in 2017.

Failed implants of the proximal interphalangeal joint may result in bone and soft tissue deficits and joint instability with limited reliable options for reconstruction besides an arthrodesis procedure. The purpose of this report is to illustrate the use of vascularized second toe joint for salvage of failed, multi-operated proximal interphalangeal joint in two active patients. Pre-existing scars are used to define the approach and choice of donor site.
