Unlabelled: This article describes a typical, yet fictionalized woman with Alzheimer's disease during her first week at a nursing home. Readers are challenged to ask themselves in what areas of difficulty a speech-language pathologist may or may not be able to contribute to the success of this resident. The authors use the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health [International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health, 2001, Geneva, Switzerland] as the framework for assessments and the resident-centered interventions for this case study.

Learning Outcomes: 1. The reader will be able to identify the four main constructs of the ICF classification system. 2. The reader will be able to identify three environmental factors that may influence the functioning of a person with Alzheimer's disease. 3. The reader will be able to discuss at least four interventions that can be implemented by a speech-language pathologist to improve a nursing home resident's participation in daily activities.

The elucidation of the functional neuroanatomy of human fear, or threat, extinction has started in the 2000s by a series of enthusiastically greeted functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies that were able to translate findings from rodent research about an involvement of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) and the hippocampus in fear extinction into human models. Enthusiasm has been painfully dampened by a meta-analysis of human fMRI studies by Fullana and colleagues in 2018 who showed that activation in these areas is inconsistent, sending shock waves through the extinction research community. The present review guides readers from the field (as well as non-specialist readers desiring safe knowledge about human extinction mechanisms) during a series of exposures with corrective information.

Due to a lack of high-quality water, farmers have been compelled to use sewage water for irrigation, contaminating agricultural soils with multiple heavy metals. For the remediation of contaminated soil, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), pressmud (PM), and iron (III) oxide were used to improve the growth and phytostabilization potential of chickpea grown in contaminated soil. Contaminated soil was collected from a nearby field, receiving sewage and factory water over the last 60 years.
