Purpose: To compare scleral Tono-Pen (Medtronic Solan, Jacksonville, FL) readings to corneal Tono-Pen readings.
Methods: Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured prospectively in 72 eyes of 37 adult patients and in 10 eyes of 5 children. Measurements were taken on the central cornea and on the sclera. Recorded measurements were within 5% confidence levels by Tono-Pen.
Results: Corneal IOP ranged from 10 to 28 mm Hg (mean +/- standard deviation, 17.0 +/- 3.8 mm Hg). Scleral measurements ranged from 4 to 99 mm Hg (40.4 +/- 23.0 mm Hg). Scleral measurements ranged from 11 mm Hg lower to 76 mm Hg higher than corneal measurements.
Conclusions: Tono-Pen readings obtained from sclera are of no clinical value and should not be used to approximate corneal IOP.

Background: To evaluate the agreement between the Goldman applanation tonometer (GAT), Tono-Pen, and noncontact tonometer (NCT) in the measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) in pseudophakic children.
Methods: The medical records of nonglaucomatous pseudophakic children between 2009 and 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 46 eyes of 23 patients operated for bilateral pediatric cataract were included in the study.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different stages of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and metabolic control of blood glucose levels on corneal biomechanical parameters.
Methods: Diabetic patients were categorized into three groups: no DR group, nonproliferative DR (NPDR) group, and proliferative DR (PDR) group. Of the 141 eyes examined, 40 belonged to the control group, 34 to no DR group, 34 to NPDR group, and 33 to PDR group.

Purpose: To compare intraocular pressure (IOP) obtained with Tono-Pen (TP) and Goldmann applanation (GAT) using large-scale electronic health records (EHR).
Design: Retrospective cohort study.
Methods: A single pair of eligible TP/GAT IOP readings was randomly selected from the EHR for each ophthalmology patient at an academic ophthalmology center (2013-2022), yielding 4550 eligible measurements.
