Background: Prostatic malignancy with paraneoplastic subacute encephalitis -A rare syndrome METHOD: We present a case of 76 year old male without any previous comorbidity and addiction who manifested a rapid neuropsychiatric decline with a frontotemporal syndrome over a period of 6 months. He was anemic and cerebrospinal fluid study showed 10 cells with lymphocytic predominance. The extensive workup of csf for infection, malignancy revealed nothing.

Antibiotics are a revolutionary discovery in modern medicine, enabling the successful treatment of bacterial infections that were once untreatable and deadly. Teixobactin, a "head-toside- chain" cyclodepsipeptide, shows great promise as a lead compound for developing new antibiotics to deal with multi-drug-resistant bacterial infections. The unique pharmacological profile and intriguing structural characteristics of teixobactin, including its unusual amino acid residues (three D-amino acids and L-allo-enduracididine), have drawn the attention of multiple research groups seeking to create new antibiotics with innovative mechanisms.

These syndromes can manifest as a range of autoimmune disorders, including myasthenia gravis, pure red cell aplasia, and aplastic anemia. The pygmy sperm whale (Kogia breviceps) possesses an exocrine gland associated with its false gill slit pigmentation pattern. The cervical gill slit gland is a compound tubuloalveolar gland that produces a holocrine secretion and displays maturational changes in size and secretory histology. While the morphology of the cervical gill slit gland has been described in detail, to date, the chemical composition of its secretion remains uncharacterized.

Therapeutics promoting the endogenous production of IL-10 have the potential to restore homeostasis in inflammatory disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Here we describe the identification of a series of IL-10 upregulators based on a pyrimidyl-piperidine scaffold through a high throughput phenotypic CD4 T-cell multiplex assay. optimization of the initial hit yielded a lead with good potency and an clearance profile, compound 3-7, which additionally demonstrated efficacy in a murine endotoxin challenge PK-PD mechanistic model.
