A 47-year-old male patient underwent surgery for a 10-cm adrenal cortical carcinoma. A large invasive adrenal mass was surgically removed en bloc with the right kidney and the lower lobe of the liver. Two months postoperatively, a 7-cm recurrent mass developed in the right psoas muscle. After a partial response was achieved by irradiation (40 Gy) and high-dose chemotherapy (carboplatin and etoposide) with peripheral blood stem cell transplantation, the patient underwent surgery with a wide excision of the psoas muscle. Twelve months after the initial surgery, an 8-cm rib metastasis developed and the patient again underwent surgery after a combination of irradiation (50 Gy) and chemotherapy (cisplatin and etoposide). The patient has been doing well without any evidence of recurrence for 5 years. Refractory or metastatic adrenal cortical carcinomas have been thought to be lethal, therefore, the present case provides support for multimodal treatments of refractory adrenocortical cancers.

Introduction: This extensive literature review investigates the relationship between post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD), focusing on the neurobiological changes associated with their co-occurrence. Given that these disorders frequently coexist, we analyze mechanisms through which alcohol serves as a coping strategy for PTSD symptoms, particularly highlighting the drinking-to-cope self-medication model, which suggests that alcohol use exacerbates PTSD symptoms and complicates recovery.
Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed and Google Scholar, to identify studies examining the intersection of the biopsychosocial model with PTSD, AUD, and associated neural alterations.

Background: The impact of steroid-sparing immunosuppressive agents (SSIAs) for immune-related adverse events (irAEs) on tumor outcome is not well-known. This systematic review evaluates tumor outcomes for corticosteroid (CS) monotherapy versus CS with SSIA (CS-SSIA) for irAE treatment with a focus on melanoma.
Methods: Search was conducted through 1/5/23 using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Web of Science.

Adrenocortical cancer (ACC) is a rare malignant neoplasm originating from the adrenal cortex, presenting limited therapeutic options. An avenue for improving therapeutic efficacy may involve a deeper understanding of the role of adrenocortical stem/progenitor cells in the pathogenesis of this disease. Although existing data suggest stem/progenitor characteristics in certain cell populations within ACC, the challenge remains to identify adrenocortical stem cell markers directly involved in its carcinogenesis.

Three main treatments are available for management of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). Both induction and maintenance therapies should be considered for treatment of CIDP. Plasma exchange and intravenous immunoglobulin therapy are effective as induction treatments for CIDP, and corticosteroid administration, such as daily oral or pulse therapies, may be effective for both induction and maintenance.

Aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA) is a leading cause of primary aldosteronism (PA), a condition marked by excessive aldosterone secretion. CYP11B2, the aldosterone synthase, plays a critical role in aldosterone biosynthesis and the development of APA. Despite its significance, encoding regulatory mechanisms governing CYP11B2, particularly its degradation, remain poorly understood.
