Introduction: The knowledge accrued through research in the domain of crossmodal correspondences has had a significant influence on a diverse array of disciplines, including behavioral studies, neuroscience, computational modeling, and notably, marketing, with the objective of aligning sensory experiences to help shape patterns of consumer behavior. A study is reported that explores the extension of these principles to the communication of products having a notably complex sensory profile, specifically within the context of wine. The central aim of the project is to explore the feasibility of using crossmodal communication as a strategic tool to augment the congruence between the consumers' multisensory expectations and their sensory experiences.

The question of whether the epithelium should be removed in corneal cross-linking (CXL) in the treatment of keratoconus and other corneal ectatic disorders remains controversial. The motivation for epithelium-on CXL methods, which are not yet FDA approved and vary greatly in methodology, is to reduce the risk of vision-threatening complications related to debridement. However, as discussed in this counterpoint piece, most high-level evidence suggests that removal of the epithelium facilitates greater crosslinking effectiveness as measured by primary clinical outcome metrics such as topographic flattening and stabilization of disease.

The meanings of most open class words are suffused with sensory and affective features. A word such as , for example, evokes polymodal associations ranging from gritty sand (tactile) and crashing waves (auditory) to the distinctive smell of sunscreen (olfactory). Aristotle argued for a hierarchy of the senses where vision and audition eclipse the lesser modalities of odor, taste, and touch.

This study aimed to understand the interactions established between social support networks and families that have children and adolescents with visual impairment, in two different cities in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. This was a qualitative, descriptive study with symbolic interactionism as a theoretical framework. A genogram, ecomap and semi-structured interviews with 18 families were used.
